Compass – finances God’s way is a global non-profit Christian ministry dedicated to teaching people what the Bible says about money and possessions, how to apply it, and how to replicate it in the lives of others.
In 2009, Howard Dayton founded Compass – finances God’s way with the God-sized vision to someday see everyone, everywhere faithfully living by God’s financial principles in every area of their lives.
Our mission is to equip people worldwide to faithfully apply God’s instructions on money and possessions, so they may know Christ more intimately, be free to serve Him, and help fund the Great Commission.
In short, Compass – finances God’s way exists to help others follow Jesus (Matthew 4:19), make disciples (Matthew 28:18-20), and glorify God (John 15:8).

About Compass South Africa
Pastor Trevor and Rhoda Naidoo are leaders for Compass Financial Ministry in South Africa. They both serve on the global masters training cohort and are committed to serving churches, businesses, ministries, schools and other organizations by providing biblically-based training on what God has to say about money and possessions.
Compass – well versed in finances, exists to help others follow Jesus (Matthew 4:19), make disciples (Matthew 28:18-20), and glorify God (John 15:8). We are committed to being Christ centered, bible based, discipleship focused, prayer driven, and Holy Spirit led.
We encourage you to engage the financial discipleship journey so that you may know Christ more intimately, be free to serve Him and help fund the Great Commission
Our History
In 1985, Howard Dayton founded Crown Ministries, which merged with Larry Burkett’s organization in 2000 to form Crown Financial Ministries. In 2007, Howard elected to transition from the role of its CEO after serving in this capacity as a full-time unpaid volunteer since 1985.
Howard Dayton founded Compass—finances God’s way to improve and distribute the small group studies globally. The Crown Financial Ministries board graciously allowed Compass to use the materials Howard previously authored so that the studies could continue to be used by the Lord to change lives and draw people closer to Christ.
While Crown and Compass have similar missions to teach God’s financial principles, the primary methods are different. Compass’ focus is to teach primarily in small groups because it is a proven and extremely effective method to help people apply what they learn.
We believe God is multiplying rather than duplicating the two ministries so they can each focus on their missions and separately influence more people than they could have as one organization.
